Free Reins. Where safety, quality and style come together.

The new Free Reins safety rein is designed to put you and your horse’s welfare first, helping to prevent entanglement while you’re riding or during a fall.

This is the first safety rein that automatically unclips when sufficient force is applied, replacing the unyielding, traditional rein buckle. Under pressure, the safety connector separates the reins. Once safe to do so the reins can then be simply reassembled and are safe to ride in again, up to three times.

The Free Reins safety system has been subject to extensive testing at AMRC Cymru, part of the University of Sheffield Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre‘s network of cutting-edge research and development facilities. Its experts extensively tested the safety product at its state-of-the-art advanced manufacturing facility in Broughton.

Using the finest quality materials including beautiful English leather, this British designed and assembled rein gives the rider complete peace of mind and confidence in the patented Free Reins system.

You can customise your Free Reins by choosing leather colour, connector colour and length of rein.

“I can’t believe they don’t already exist! These safety reins hugely reduce the risk of injury to horse and ride, every rider should be using them.”

– Erin Coulter, Pony Club Centre Coach and Stage 4 Coach in Complete Horsemanship
